Phoenix Paradise Village Goes Solar

Yet another great step to greening our wonderful state of Arizona. All made possible by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The city is engaged in several other similar projects, many of them focused on solar water heating.

According to AZCentral.com:

“For the first time at a large, city-owned residential unit, Phoenix has retrofitted an apartment complex in northeast Phoenix with solar-energy equipment and weatherization materials.

The goal is to reduce energy use and utility bills for the low- to middle-income residents of the 62-unit Paradise Village apartments in the Palomino neighborhood.

The city partnered with Arizona Public Service, which provided more than $180,000 in renewable-energy-systems rebates, and Southwest Gas, which donated the water heaters.”
