Michigan Consumers can save energy – and cash – with new appliances

State using $8.8M of federal funds for efficiency program.

“The state, as part of a national program, is offering rebates ranging from $25 to $100 for consumers who replace old appliances with certain energy-efficient refrigerators, clothes washers and dishwashers.

The program will cover up to $1,200 for a solar water heater.

“It helps if you were on the fence before, thinking about the time to replace,” said Bill LeVeque of G&W Maytag Home Appliance Center. “For those who have to replace, the timing is just right.”

The Michigan Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program started Wednesday and is expected to provide more than 119,000 rebates.”

Cash for Caulkers – Tax Rebates for Going Green

We all look forward to this program talking off.  Cash for Caulkers is an attempt to dramatically increase efficiency efforts.  This could stimulate the economy by creating more jobs, as well as help climate change.
